The South West Preservation Group was formed in July 2008 by Mark Amis and Matthew Reynolds - both are Bristol based bus enthusiasts. The South West Preservation Group was set up to purchase & restore vehicles and display them at rallies to enable future generations to look at buses "how they used to be". We are a friendly group of enthusiasts who are pooling their resources to help achieve this aim. Some are vehicle owners, others are just enthusiasts with a love of buses. Joining SWPG allows you to join a group of like minded enthusiasts who wish to see the continued preservation of old buses. Most vehicles have a South West theme although there is a Bristol based Lancastrian who likes to preserve his northern roots. The picture above shows three of our vehicles which attended the 2009 POPS rally in Stoke-on-Trent. They are, from left to right, ex Badgerline / Abus Bristol VR 5531 (EWS739W), ex Bournemouth 74 Leyland Tiger (FRU675Y) and ex Southern Vectis 310 / Edward Thomas (TJI8780)
